The Phlebotomy Program trains students to safely and professionally draw blood. Phlebotomists collect blood for tests, transfusions, research, or blood donations. They also help patients feel comfortable and answer questions during the process.
This hands-on training prepares you to work in hospitals, clinics, labs, and blood donation centers.
What You’ll Learn:
- How to draw blood from adults, children, and newborns using safe techniques
- How to properly label, handle, and prepare blood samples
- Safety procedures, medical terminology, and basic emergency care (including CPR)
- How to prepare and organize equipment for lab testing
- Communication and teamwork skills needed to succeed in healthcare

After completing the program, you’ll earn a certificate. While Florida does not require state licensure, you can pursue national certifications (AMT, ASPT, NHA, NCCT) with the required work experience.
Admission Requirements:
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Not currently enrolled in a K-12 program
- High School Diploma or GED from an accredited school
