Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

The FAFSA is the form used by the U.S, Department of Education to collect information and determine an applicant’s Expected Family Contribution (EFC) by conducting a “needs analysis” based on the applicant’s personal information. The EFC is used to determine an applicant’s eligibility for federal grants and loans. Other agencies, such as states and schools, may use the information to award other types of aids. Students can download a copy of their FASFA information to make informed decisions about finances and assets at http://www.fsadownload.ed.gov
